Tasks set before the State Migration Service associated with IV Islamic Solidarity Games and 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix  are executed on time and with high quality

President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on  March, 2 of this year on “measures on the organization and implementation of IV Islamic Solidarity Games” and “simplification of visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with 2017 Formula 1 Gran-Prix of Azerbaijan.”

According to the Order on “measures on the organization and implementation of IV Islamic Solidarity Games” from 1 April to 1 July, foreigners and stateless persons that successfully passed accreditation procedures arriving in the Republic  of Azerbaijan will be able to enter and leave visa-free to/from the Republic of Azerbaijan on the basis of providing passport or other travel document allowing border crossing and a valid accreditation card. 

Moreover, in accordance with the Order, foreigners and stateless persons engaged in labor activites either during organization or implementation of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided that they successfully passed accreditation procedure will not require the issuance of work permits. 

In accordance with relevant rules of “Formula One Management Limited” Company and International Automobile Federation, the international organizers of Formula 1 races, foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with Formula 1 Gran-Prix of Azerbaijan by submitting a card proving permanent accreditation or any other document or a card proving permanent accreditation at Baku City Ring Operation Company may obtain visa from the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan from May 15, 2017 till June 15, 2017.

The State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall inform all the airlines carrying out flights to the Republic of Azerbaijan about the rules on arrival and simplified visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic for IV Islamic Solidarity Games and Formula 1 Grand-Prix of Azerbaijan.

Up to now, all the intended work regarding the above-mentioned issues has been fulfilled by the Service. Thus, a meeting was held with representatives of aviation companies carrying out flights to the country at the administrative building of the State Migration Service. Deputy Chief, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev stressed the importance of both events. Explanatory talks were conducted with the representatives of aviation companies on rules for arrival of foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic for IV Islamic Solidarity Games and on simplified visa procedures for Formula 1 Grand-Prix of Azerbaijan and relevant informative letters were presented to them. Moreover, informative letters were prepared and sent to the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association and their queries have been responded with details.

All other relevant works regarding the issues within the competence of the Service has been successfully fulfilled in order to hold IV Islamic Solidarity Games and Formula 1 Grand-Prix of Azerbaijan at high level.
