Excursion of schoolchildren from Binagadi district was organized to State Migration Service

In accordance with the action plan approved on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of State Migration Service an excursion of schoolchildren from Binagadi district was organized to the Headquarters of the Service.

Chief of State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev meeting with schoolchildren explained in detail the activity of the institution surrounded with President Ilham Aliyev’s attention and care. He noted that State Migration Service is one of the first state agencies which foreigners and stateless persons contact with when they enter the country. The Service deals with issues related to registration upon place of stay, extension of temporary staying period, issuance of permissions for temporary and permanent residence, adoption, restoration and revocation of citizenship, establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, moreover issuance of work permit to carry out labour activity and extension of existing ones, analysis, forecast, and monitoring of migration processes, as well as fight against illegal migration. Service chief stressed that regulation of migration processes in the country and control over this necessary field used to be carried out by several state agencies in the past. President Ilham Aliyev developing state policy in this area in compliance with the demands of the new era defined the key parameters of migration policy. State Migration Service which is an independent government body was established with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated March 19, 2007 in order to realize a more advanced system on migration in the country. New administrative building of the Service was opened to operation with participation of our honourable President. Seven-floor building which is constructed with the application of most modern standards in Binagadi district fascinates with its architectural style and interior design. All conditions for Service employees are provided at the building.

He brought to the attention the conditions created for foreigners and stateless persons as a result of policy implemented by the head of state in Azerbaijan in spite of migrant crises occurring in Europe. He stated that fundamental measures have been taken for provision of their rights and freedom. Service chief emphasized that all these successful results in our country is possible with the leadership of Ilham Aliyev.

Schoolchildren got acquainted with Reception and Waiting rooms, activity of “Call Center” and working process of employees.

The schoolchildren visiting Heydar Aliyev Museum of the Service got familiar with photo stands reflecting glorious life of founder and architect of modern Azerbaijan, National Leader and book written about the great personality. Students were informed about the activity of the museum, great services of our eternal leader before our people and state. It was noted that wide range of photos on strengthening Azerbaijan’s reputation in the international community, reinforcing independence, starting the new path of development by rescuing country economy from deep crises, signing “Contract of the Century”, measures taken in the areas of education, health, science and military are demonstrated at the museum.

Later on meeting with students of Binagadi district was held at Assembly Hall of the Service. Information was given on establishment history, activity of State Migration Service and implemented measures. It was stated that Azerbaijan’s economic, political, social and cultural, in a word, comprehensive dynamic development turned our republic to a very attractive country for foreigners.

Measures taken by State Migration Service which possesses law-enforcement body status related to regulation of migration processes during the past period were appreciated by international organization, as well as foreign guests visiting our country.

Later “Long Journey” film which was prepared by the Service dealing European migrant crisis and conditions created for migrants in Azerbaijan was demonstrated.

Memorial photo was taken and gifts were presented to the students at the end of excursion which attracted great interest of schoolchildren of Binagadi district.
