Oath ceremony was held of persons who acquired and restored the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Meeting with persons who newly obtained or restored the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the State Migration Service.

It was noted at the meeting that today wise and far-sighted policy founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued by his worthy successor Ilham Aliyev and that reforms carried out in recent years ensured prosperity and bright future for Azerbaijan. It has been stated that as a result of creation of all necessary conditions by the state to ensure freely living for representatives of different nations, religions and cultures, every person, foreigner and stateless person living in our country considers it as Motherland.

The declaration of 2016 as “A year of multiculturalism” with the relevant order of the head of state once again proved the importance of this ideological concept for our nation and state. There is no doubt, the works done in the framework of “A year of multiculturalism” is of great importance in terms of conveying the achievements of our republic gained in this sphere both to the state and international community.

It was noted that the regulation of migration processes, the protection of rights and liberties of migrants is one of the actual problems of the world. It was brought into attention that the state of Azerbaijan which is living in a war condition sensitively approaches the protection of not only the rights of citizens but also the rights of foreigners and proves to have a power for its provision. Today the adequate political and legal base which is needed for implementation of fundamental international legal documents in the sphere of human rights has been established in Azerbaijan. The State Migration Service functioning in accordance with the exceptional legislation strives for implementing its duties assigned successfully. The application of each foreigner to the State Migration Service is immediately investigated in accordance with the Migration Code, the relevant decisions are made and they are provided legal support and assistance. All are the reflection of care and attitude of our republic to the migrants. It is a result of all mentioned factors that the interest of foreigners in living, working, studying in our republic, especially the number of the ones willing to acquire the citizenship of Azerbaijan is increasing year by year.   

At the meeting it was expressed with assurance that each of the persons who achieved his/her dream and has recently obtained and restored citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan with relevant Orders of the President of the country, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev will be a decent citizen of the Azerbaijani state.

Later persons who were admitted to or restored the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan took the oath.

People who admitted and restored the citizenship shared their joy, they assured that they will bear citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan with dignity and expressed their deep gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for this great confidence. 

İt should be noted that in accordance with relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan 245 foreigners and stateless persons were granted the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as 2 persons restored the citizenship of Azerbaijan.

The event was concluded with the performance of national anthem.
