A meeting was held with Ambassador of the State of Israel in Azerbaijan at State Migration Service

On January 19, chief of State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev met with Ambassador of the State of Israel in Azerbaijan, Mr.Dan Stav.

Relations between our countries were talked about at the meeting held with the purpose of acquaintance, discussing the bilateral relations, getting information on the requirements of migration legislation for Israel citizens.  The meeting and discussions held with President Ilham Aliyev during the official visit of Prime minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu to Azerbaijan at the end of last year were touched upon. It was emphasized that Jewish people residing in Azerbaijan where multicultural values has become a lifestyle play a role of bridge between our nations.

Firudin Nabiyev brought into attention the concrete facts on condition established for foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan. He gave comprehensive information about the activity of State Migration Service carrying out the competences of unified state authority in the field of regulation and management of migration processes upon “one-stop-shop” principle and national migration legislation in Azerbaijan. It was stated that the rights and freedoms of every foreigner who has legally come to country and legalized his/her stay and residence in the republic are protected at high level. The chief of State Migration Service brought into attention the novelties in migration legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that the vital opportunities were established for effective activity of foreign businessmen in Azerbaijan. He stated that issues regarding stay and residence, as well as work permits of foreigners who are investing in or engaging to entrepreneurship activity in Azerbaijan have been sufficiently facilitated in the Migration Code. This has created new opportunities for foreigners in order to start a business in Azerbaijan.

Service chief talked about capabilities of Unified Migration Information System of Azerbaijan, as well.

Dan Stav expressed his proudness for acting as an ambassador in this country. Diplomat noted the beauty of our country and Baku, as well as sincerity of our nation. Ambassador highly estimated the activity of state agency in the field of migration management in Azerbaijan, and also existence of Migration Code – compendium of unified norms in this field. He mentioned that during the acting period he will do his best for expanding and deepening the relations between two states, as well as improving relations between countries in all fields including migration. 

At the meeting exchange of opinion was conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
