Official statistics of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan for august 2016

Relevant measures towards implementation of state policy in migration sphere, strengthening state control over migration processes, management and regulation of migration processes, as well as prevention of illegal migration have been conducted by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan during August of 2016.

During the month 3478 cases concerning infringement of requirements of administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons without observing rules of stay, temporary and permanent residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been revealed. Lost documents of 22 foreigners for temporary or permanent residence were replaced with new ones. 255 of them were fined and their residence in the country was legalized. Decisions were made on 2373 foreigners to leave the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 48 hours and on 828 foreigners to be removed in administrative order from the country.

In total during the month SMS received 8862 applications on extension of temporary staying period, granting temporary and permanent residence permissions, adoption, revocation and restoration of citizenship, as well as establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, issuing work permits for carrying out labor activity and extending period of existing work permits from foreigners and stateless persons. Each application was investigated in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant decisions were made. 

95985 applications for registration upon place of stay were registered during the last month.

12 citizens of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and 2 citizens of Islamic Republic of Irag were detained as a result of measures taken by State Migration Service against illegal migration.

During the investigation it was revealed that Pakistani citizens Basil Ahmad Zeshan and Wadvan Ahmad were attempting to issue false visas for 5 Pakistani citizens fraudulently. Thus, IT specialist Basil Ahmad Zeshan who visited Azerbaijan for the first time has received an order from his countryman Wadvan Ahmad residing in the territory of our country illegally and issued the visas in the internet club near 28 May metro station with the help of special program. Basil Ahmad Zeshan used online visa belonging to another Pakistani citizen named Babar Shahzad by changing the visa information.

It was disclosed that other 7 Pakistani citizens were deceitfully brought to the territory of the country by the citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sana Ur Rahman. Thus, it was revealed that S.U.Rahman came to Azerbaijan on September 19, 2015, legalized his staying in the territory of the country by receiving temporary residence permit on the ground of full-time education at institution of higher education for himself and his family members, arranged transportation of citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to our country in return of some amount of money by deceiving them with employment promises. S.U.Rahman housed his compatriots in different addresses rented by him in Baku.

At the same time, it was detected that S.U.Rahman attracted another Pakistani citizen Nabeel Anjum to his illegal actions, N. Anjum arranged greeting and housing of Pakistani citizens brought to Azerbaijan, as well as, cheated them into applying to S.U.Rahman. At the same time, it was disclosed that N.Anjum entered the territory of the country on July 25 this year and since July 26 he is staying in the republic illegally.

Other detained citizens of Pakistan Shahzada Abu Bakar, Majid Ali, Arslan Ramzan, Adnan Athar, Muhammad Munir, Zahid Imran and Arshad Mahmood were revealed to be illegally residing in the territory of the country.

Besides that, one of the foreigners detained as a result of made operations, the citizen of the Republic of Irag Ahmed Mohammad Jarullah Mahmood came to our country on December 22, 2015 for the purpose of working as a tourist guide and unofficially rendered a services for transporting Iraqi citizens to Azerbaijan, housing, guiding and departing them.

Ahmad Mohammad Jarullah Mahmoud and another detained Iragi citizen Mahmud Shakir Mahmud Ad-Dulaimin didn’t leave the territory of the country despite the expiration of visa validity and continued to live in the country as illegal migrant.

As a result of complex measures taken by State Migration Service all mentioned foreigners have been exposed and neutralized.
