State Migration Service held a meeting with representatives of tourism facilities  

At the meeting held with participation of representatives of tourism facilities located within the service area of Khachmaz regional migration department it was mentioned that nowadays hotels complying with international standards have been constructed not only in the capital, but also in the regions, a number of leading investment companies have been attracted to the country, new tourism zones have been created as a result of attention given to development of tourism by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In a word, tourism companies and hotels acting in Azerbaijan have been constructed in compliance with international standards and today our republic has become a perspective tourism country. It was stated that currently Azerbaijan has a capacity to welcome sufficient number of tourists and accommodate appropriately.

It was stated that State Migration Service which has been surrounded with President Ilham Aliyev’s care and attention and set the principles of providing transparency and applying innovative methods in management, as well as regulation of migration processes as a priority, continues activities complying international standards in order to ensure observance of rules of stay and residence in the country by every foreigner or stateless person, as well as tourist visiting our country, and render them comfortable, operative and transparent service. 

At the meeting explanatory discussions were held on procedures of registration upon place of stay at State Migration Service within 10 days after arrival in accordance with requirements of Migration Code in case foreigners and stateless persons visiting our country intend to stay on the territory of the country for more than 10 days.

During the speeches it was brought into attention that according to Article 21 of the Migration Code the management of the places of stay of the foreigner or stateless person (hotel, sanatorium, rest home, guest house, campsite, tourist base, hospital or other similar places) or the owner of the apartment or other residential area where the foreigner or stateless person stay should submit application for registration upon place of stay and copy of the passport or other border crossing document of that person through web information resource of State Migration Service, e-mail or in person to relevant regional migration departments. 

Foreigners and stateless persons themselves can apply for getting registered upon place of stay in compliance with the rules envisaged by the Migration Code.

It was mentioned that at the Service special emphasis is put on application of information and communication technologies and applications of foreigners and stateless persons on registration upon place of stay are received online as well.

Later on the employee of Analysis of migration processes and information support head department visually explained rules of getting registered upon place of stay by foreigners and stateless persons through entering “Online services” section at the webpage of the Service www.migration.gov.az, after signing up as physical or juridical person in registration upon place of stay window.

At the meeting it was particularly highlighted that management of hotels chosen by foreign guests should be more responsible in providing registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay in compliance with the rules envisaged by the legislation.
