State Migration Service held meetings with foreign students at different universities  

On the eve of the 9th anniversary of its establishment State Migration Service continues awareness raising events for foreigners and stateless persons in our republic. 

At the meeting held with foreign students of Baku State University with the participation of officials from the Service the participants were generally informed about the functions of the Service and new adjustments in migration legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Simplified procedures on migration regulated via relevant legal acts were explained to the students from different countries of the world.  It was emphasized that foreigners and stateless persons entering the country should get registered upon place of stay if they are willing to stay in the country for more than 10 days. At the event discussions were held on possibilities to use the 11 online services provided by the State Migration Service.

Implementation of state policy on migration and activities for regulating migration processes in Azerbaijan were the major discussion subject at the awareness raising event held at the University of Architecture and Construction. Conditions and terms for issuance and extension of temporary and permanent residence permit, as well as work permit for paid labor activity were highlighted for the participants. The participants were also informed that during last year upon application temporary staying period of 885 people was prolonged, 53 200 people and their children under 18, immigrating with them were given temporary residence permit and 2640 people were granted permanent residence permit. Information about the measures taken for eradication of statelessness in our country received great interest of the participants.
