Memory of the victims of Khojaly genocide was commemorated at State Migration Service
The event which started with photo and book exhibition dedicated to Khojaly genocide at waiting hall of the Service was continued at assembly hall. Memory of the victims of Khojaly genocide was revered with one minute’s silence and report of the I deputy chief of SMS senior migration service counselor Vali Naghiyev on Khojaly genocide was listened. It was stated that the tragedy of XX century – Khojaly tragedy is bloody page of ethnic cleansing and genocide policy against Azerbaijani people of Armenia which made terror to official state policy. On the night from February 25 to 26, 1992 Armenian terrorists completely destroyed Khojaly city, mercilessly murdered peaceful residents, especially children, women and old people with the help of soldiers and officers of 366th regiment of the former soviet army.
V.Naghiyev emphasized that after return of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power in the country, Azerbaijan government and parliament achieved to convey realities of Khojaly genocide to world countries, parliaments and international organizations. It was brought into attention with concrete facts that consistent and purposeful policy is implemented by our state under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev towards achieving political and legal assessment of international community to this vandalism.
At the ceremony attention was drawn to measures taken in the framework of “Justice for Khojaly” international campaign which was organized at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, resolutions adopted in the legislative bodies of several states related with recognition of Khojaly genocide.
Later documentary film on Khojaly genocide was demonstrated.
