Meeting was held with the participation of heads of structural units and subordinate bodies of the State Migration Service
Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev held an official meeting with the participation of heads of structural units and subordinate bodies of the Service, related to the rapid solution of problems arising from the duties set forth by the President Ilham Aliyev in the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of social and economic development of the 9 months of 2015 and forthcoming tasks.
F. Nabiyev stated that attracting foreign investment to the non-oil sector is determined as one of the priorities by the head of state and the State Migration Service should further increase attention to rapid solution of migration related problems of foreign investor in our country. It is true that the migration legislation of Azerbaijan relating issuing residence and work permits for foreigners have been sufficientlysimplified. Previous legislation did not allow extension of permits for temporary residence, as well as work permits for engaging in paid labour activity more than 4 times, however this limitation has been removed in accordance with the Migration Code which entered into force on August 1, 2013. Moreover, taking into account development pace of our country, the provision on granting temporary residence permits up to 3 years to the persons investing at least 500 000 manats in the economy of the country is one of the novelties in the current legislation.
Service chief added “during his speech at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of social and economic development of 9 months of 2015 and forthcoming tasks the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed on again that fight against corruption and bribery should be conducted more intensively. As a respond to the attention and care of the State to the Service, each employee of the migration bodies should fulfill his/her duty with great responsibility, should not give an opportunity for the activitythat could lead to negative cases. Because as the head of state mentioned, each official is a servant of the people.
F. Nabiyev specially emphasized that “overall responsibility lies on chief personnel who are directly responsible for activities of structural units and subordinating bodies of the Service.Therefore you should immediately interfere and eliminate all the issues relating to migration, as well as misunderstanding that may arise from ensuring applicants’ satisfaction, should not allow negative cases.Migration process is an essential part of globalizing world.During the short period the innovations carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of migration are seen by public, international organizations, foreigners and stateless persons who came to our republic and measures taken relating to migration in our country are shown as an example. We should decently justify this confidence.”Expressing his confidencethat each migration service employee will further approach his/her duties with responsibility Service chief stated that employees of State Migration Service should fulfill all tasks and instructions professionally and decently.
