The 7th Steering Committee’s meeting of Twinning project called “Support to the professional development of the staff of State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan”
Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor, Firudin Nabiyev received director general of Repatriation and Departure Service of the Kingdom of Netherlands Ms. Rhodia Maas. The urgency of migration issue in a globalized world was brought to attention at the meeting. The work done and obtained results in the framework of Twinning project based on best practices of Member States of European Union and the Republic of Azerbaijan were analyzed, implemented measures were spoken about and perspectives of successful cooperation were discussed.
The results of activity directions for each components gained during the reporting period were discussed at the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee of Twinning project which is funded in the framework of European Union’s Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument program at the State Migration Service. Consequences of irregular migration were pointed out. The significance of legalization of foreigners and stateless persons staying and residence in the country they arrived in, for both migrants and the society was emphasized too. The deputy chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev notified the responsibility of employees of the State Migration Service for the management and regulation of migration processes in accordance with international convention and national legislation, and for this reason attention given to the professional development of the staff.
The obtained results during the period from the 6th meeting of the Twinning Project Steering Committee were highly appreciated.
Experts from Netherlands, Romania and Latvia which are the partner countries of the European Union, project manager from the beneficiary country, project coordinator, Component leaders, employees from the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Delegation of the European Union participated in the workshop.
