The event dedicated to 31 March – Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis held at the State Migration Service
At first the memory of the genocide victims was commemorated with one minute`s silence in the ceremony. Later on Parviz Musayev, Deputy Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor gave information on genocide of Azerbaijanis. Terrorism and separatist acts against Azerbaijan nation by Armenians and their supporters were brought to participants' attention in the light of historical facts. It was notified that settlement process of Armenians in a planned manner in eternal lands began on the basis of Gulustan and Turkmanchay treaties by which Azerbaijan was divided into two parts and there is not any analogue of vandalism in the world committed by Armenians. Such kind of vandalism against humanity has been committed in different periods – in the years of 1905-1907, in the March of 1918 and in the years of 1948-1953, as well as it was continued by displacement of Azerbaijanis from their historical ancestral lands and occupation of Azerbaijan lands. At last Khojali genocide act - tragedy of the century perpetrated in 1992 is a crime against not only one nation, but also mankind. It was noted that vandalism committed by Armenians in 1918 has gained its political value with the decree of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev dated from March 26, 1998 and from that time 31st of March is commemorated as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. It is historical reality that this decree is a program-oriented document in order to formulate solid national memory in modern and future generations about the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis, to provide sound political and legal evaluation of Armenian terrorism and chauvinism, to prevent and not to let of such cases repeat any more.
At the event it was specifically stated that Armenia not leaving its repulsive intentions even in the XXI century and choosing terror as state policy will be responded worthily sooner or later. Belief in liberation of our lands from occupation, return of each Azerbaijanis to their homeland, waving of Azerbaijan flag not only in Karabagh, but also in our historical lands-now so-called Armenia, as a result of consecutive and purposeful policy of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief was expressed.
