Commemoration ceremony at State Migration Service dedicated to the memory of victims of Khojaly genocide

On February 26, the memory of victims of Khojaly genocide was recalled at State Migration Service. Photo and book exhibitions reflecting the genocide also attracted attention of foreigners applying to the Service and Regional Migration Departments, as a matter of great importance from the standpoint of genuine view of truth. Presented photo and video materials, scientific and journalistic editions published in different languages gave a clear idea of Armenian vandalism who didn’t show mercy even to children, women, old and ill people.

The commemoration event was continued after getting acquainted with the exhibition in the assembly hall of the Service. The memory of victims of the massacre which is the most terrible tragedy of the 20thcentury was commemorated with one minute’s silence. Then Deputy chief of the Service, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev casted a glance at the glorious history of Azerbaijani people, brought information on slaughter perpetrated against Azerbaijanis by Armenians with the help of their supporters in the beginning of the last century, to the attention of ceremony participants via historical facts. It is particularly emphasized that international community gets informed about the real truth and this genocide is acknowledged by a number of countries and international organizations in the framework of policy carried out by Azerbaijan government and “Justice for Khojaly” campaign realizing with the organizational activities of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The work done has created firm belief that killing of innocent people for only being Azerbaijani will not remain without revenge.

It was regretfully stated that world community shows indifference to aggression by Armenia who keeps 20 percent of the territory of Azerbaijan under occupation and neglects 4 resolutions of UN Security Council. Talks were carried out about the responsibility upon everyone, including each employee of migration services in order to learn lessons from history, to bring information about these tragedies of our people to the attention of future generations and international community.

 

At the end of the event documentary film on the history of Khojaly which was wiped out on the night from February 25 to February 26, 1992 and had 7500 inhabitants, killing of 613 persons with inhuman cruelty, genocide committed by Armenians against humanity, was demonstrated.
