Service meeting dedicated to the results of 2013 held at State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On December 27, 2013 service meeting dedicated to the results of 2013 was held at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Announcing the event open Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev addressed the audience with a report. Stating that the well planned and foresighted policy based on National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s development strategy is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, Service chief stressed that high results have been achieved in all spheres of the republic in recent years, and as a result of that our country has become attractive for foreign investors and foreigners.  

He mentioned that during the reporting period 399.927 foreigners and stateless persons were registered on place of stay, 40.800 persons and their children under 18 years old immigrating with them were issued temporary residence permits and 2338 persons were issued permanent residence permits, 729 persons’ temporary staying periods in the territory of the country have been extended. Moreover, 9.021 persons were issued work permits, work permits of 3.647 persons were extended.

During the reporting period 564 monitoring activities have been carried out in business enterprises and administrative violation has been detected in 256 cases. Furthermore, violation of rules on stay, temporary and permanent residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as requirements of administrative legislation by residence with invalid documents by 30.867 foreigners was revealed. Among them 3007 persons’ residence in the country was legalized upon existence of relevant grounds, decisions were made on 25.796 persons to leave the territory of the country, 1.746 persons from 40 countries were removed from the territory of the country in administrative way. During the reporting period 5838 persons were exempted from fines, entry restrictions imposed on 202 foreigners and stateless persons were abolished.

Later on reports of representatives of regional migration departments were listened to.     

At the end of the meeting Service chief F. Nabiyev stated that by professionally implementing tasks and duties assigned for 2014, State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan is determined to contribute to state security, preservation of domestic labour market and economic development.
