Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Netherlands in the sphere of migration is strengthening
Chief of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic, the 2nd rank state migration service counselor Mr. Arzu Rahimov received the delegation headed by the Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Netherlands Ernst Hirsch Ballin on August 9, 2010.
Noting development of friendly relationship between Azerbaijan and Netherlands Service Chief Mr. Arzu Rahimov remembered his visit to this country on Repatriation and Departure Service of the Netherlands’ invitation and productive meetings and stressed the role of this visit in the strengthening and development of cooperation in the migration area between the two countries. Mr. Arzu Rahimov also emphasized that at present ample opportunities have been provided for implementation of state policy on improvement of the migration legislation in compliance with international norms and current requirements, ensure of stable socio-economical and demographic development, rational utilization of labour resources and prevention of illegal migration. Service Chief also drew guests’ attention to the successful results gained after application of “Single Window” principle since the 1st of July 2009 for the purpose of improvement of migration management system, issuance of relevant permissions to reside in the territory of the country and engage in labour activity for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the country, simplification of procedures of registration for the place of residence and ensure of transparency in this sphere.
Ernst Hirsch Ballin the head of the delegation expressed his thankfulness for warm welcome and highly appreciated steps taken in the direction of development of reciprocal economical, social and cultural relations between our countries, done work, reforms carried out in the migration sphere and gained achievements. Emphasizing fortification of Azerbaijan’s position in the region the guest notified that Netherlands attaches importance to the development of relations in the migration area between the two countries and intends to undertake concrete measures in this direction. Ernst Hirsch Ballin stressed his hope that this visit will exert positive influence on development of current relations, joint cooperation in migration sphere and gaining achievements in the elimination of illegal migration cases.
At the meeting perspectives of cooperation were comprehensively discussed, fruitful opinion exchange on extension of mutual cooperation and interested issues in migration area were held.
At the end of the event the guests got acquainted with the new administrative building of the Service.
