“Round table” dedicated to the First European Games was held at State Migration Service with representatives of airlines conducting flights to Azerbaijan
“Round table” with competent representatives of airlines conducting flightsto our country was held at State Migration Service for the purpose of holding awareness events on visa facilitation procedures for persons coming to the Republic of Azerbaijan related to the Baku 2015 European Games.
At the meeting deputy chief of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev noted that, regarding implementation of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On some measures regarding organization of the Baku 2015 European Games” dated on August 08, 2014 Action Plan related to measures which will be taken by State Migration Service has been prepared and approved by the chief of State Migration Service. Regarding implementation of the Action Plan relevant instructions were given to authorized officials in the meeting at Service on March.
Working Group including employees of relevant structural sections of SMS and bodies entering its system is established for operative solution of issues related to competences of SMS.
Today, for the purpose of ensuring security of Azerbaijan Republic and of guests, athletes, spectators arriving in our country, as well as informing foreigners and solving problems which may arise in this field relevant measures are taken. Properly accredited foreigners and stateless persons with permanent residence in foreign countries can entertoand exit from the Republic of Azerbaijan with their passports or other border-crossing documents and accreditation cardsstarting from 60 days prior to opening of the Games and for the period of 30 days after the end of the Games.
Foreigners and stateless persons with permanent residence in foreign countries can obtain visas in the Consular Department Sections of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan at international airports starting from 10 days prior to opening of the Games with ticket or a document confirming purchase of the ticket for the Baku 2015 European Games.
It was also noted that, Service surrounded with attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan has established its activity related with the Baku 2015 European Games on regards to current requirements and all necessary conditions are set for ensuring comfort of foreigners who will arrive in our country within this period. Taking into account arrival of foreigners in our country on a mass scale to watch competitions, SMShas ensured their registration upon place of stay electronically.
Accredited foreigners, as well as participants of the Baku 2015 European Games intending to stay temporarily in the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than 10 days are exempt from registration upon place of stay.
Notifications on visa facilitation procedures for persons coming to the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the Baku 2015 European Games are also placed in official website of State Migration Service.
Samples of accreditation cards and other documents have been presented to guests. At the end questions that interested participants have been answered.
