Press conference for mass media representatives was held at the State Migration Service

Press conference for mass media representatives was held on July 2, 2009 in the State Migration Service. The main purpose of this conference was connected with the application of the “Single Window” Principle in the migration management processes from July 1, 2009 in the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in conformity with the Presidential Decree № 69 signed on March 4, 2009.

In his speech Service Chief Mr. Arzu Rahimov stressed that as a result of economical reforms and successful policy pursued by the head of the state Mr. Ilham Aliyev living standards of population has raised and the number of foreigners coming to our country have increased year-by-year related with the rapid development in all spheres. Underlining that the State Migration Service established for the purpose of forming migration policy, regulating and strengthening control on migration processes has been charged with strict duties Mr. Arzu Rahimov stressed that the Presidential Decree on “Application of the “Single Window” Principle in the migration management” dated on March 4, 2009 serves to improve migration management mechanism and to simplify the procedures of grating permissions to foreigners and stateless persons entering the Republic of Azerbaijan for lawful residence and engaging in labor activity, and of their registration for the place of residence, as well as to ensure transparency in this sphere.

The head of the Service also gave comprehensive information about “Regulations on extension of the temporary staying period in the Republic of Azerbaijan for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan under non-visa regime” approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 9, 2009.

At the end of the event Chief of the Service Mr. Arzu Rahimov answered the questions that interested the journalists.
