Chief of the State Migration Service met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan

Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor, received the new Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, Marijana Kujundžić.

Chief of Service congratulated Ms. Kujundžićon her appointment as the Head of the EU Delegation in our country and wished her success in her activity.

Vusal Huseynov provided information about Azerbaijan’s migration management system, innovations in this field, including the Highly Qualified Migrant Portal, the main directions of national legislation, as well as the digital solutions applied in regulating migration processes.

Chief of Service highlighted the activities carried out in the field of promoting legal migration and combating irregular migration, particularly the implementation of readmission agreements related to persons residing without authorization, which is one of the key components of cooperation with the EU and shared his views on the current status of the draft implementation protocols prepared for the application of these Agreements

Expressing her gratitude for the warm meeting, the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ms. Marijana Kujundžić, highlighted that she would spare no effort in expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in the field of migration, emphasized that the launch of the State Migration Service's Highly Qualified Migrant Program is commendable and they are ready to support the areas prioritized by the Service.

Other issues of mutual interest in the field of migration were also discussed during the meeting.
