Representatives of the Western Balkan countries participated in a study visit

Between 29–31 July 2025, representatives from relevant authorities of the Western Balkan countries and Sweden have paid a study visit to Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the visit was to study Azerbaijan’s experience in the field of migration management, to learn about the establishment of the Regional Training Centre on Migration and its functioning, as well as to discuss possible partnership opportunities in this field.

During the event held at the State Migration Service presentations were delivered on the main areas of activity of the Service, digitalization and electronic services in migration management, mechanisms and legal framework for combating irregular migration, as well as the organization of training and professional development. The guests also visited the Regional Training Centre on Migration, where they were acquainted with the Centre’s facilities and educational activities, structural model, coordination mechanisms at the regional level, development of training programs, and teaching methodology.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest, including the preparation of professional personnel in the field of migration management and the organization of joint training activities.
