Tree-planting campaign held on the occasion of the International Migrants Day
As part of the celebration of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World", declared in our country to strengthen international cooperation in the global fight against climate change, a tree-planting campaign has been held on December 18 in Mushvigabad settlement of Baku, on the occasion of the International Migrants Day. The event was jointly organized by the State Migration Service, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the International Organization for Migration.
The event was attended by Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Head of the Representation of the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan Troy Duly, members of the Advisory Council, Public Council, and Migrants Council, as well as foreigners residing in the country on relevant grounds, engaging in labor activity or studying, and the youth.
During the campaign, more than 800 olive and pine trees were planted.
The purpose of tree-planting initiatives is to contribute to environmental protection and restoration by promoting the expansion of green spaces and the preservation of ecological balance.
