A seminar dedicated to the "Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration"
Within the framework of the Regional Training Center on Migration an online seminar was jointly organized by the State Migration Service and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the participation of international experts.
The seminar was dedicated to the "Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration,"the first intergovernmental agreement covering all dimensions of international migration in a holistic and comprehensive manner, prepared under the auspices of the United Nations.
The event provided general information about the Global Compact for Migration, highlighted the importance of the "Champion Countries" initiative, the International Migration Review Forum, the "Pledge" call, and other initiatives for the effective implementation of the document.
It was noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan actively participated in the preparation of the Global Compact for Migration from the initial stage.
It was mentioned that our country is among the first countries in Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia to join the Global Compact for Migration, to submit a report on its implementation and update it, as well as to join the "Champion Countries".
The role of our country in organizing the first International Migration Review Forum 2022 was particularly emphasized, as well as detailed information on other measures realized by our country related to the implementation and consideration of the Global Compact for Migration was provided.
