Meeting held with the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Azerbaijan

Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov met with Ms. Bik Lum, the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Vusal Huseynov emphasized the close cooperation between the State Migration Service and UNHCR, highlighting the significance of carrying out joint initiatives and sharing experiences.

Chief of the Service gave detailed information on the measures implemented in order to provide the social protection and integration of refugees and persons intending to receive refugee status. He expressed confidence that the existing cooperation will be further developed within the framework of the Almaty process under the chairmanship of our country, as well as the Regional Training Center on Migration in Azerbaijan.

Bik Lum, the Representative of UNHCR in Azerbaijan, positively evaluated the work carried out within the framework of cooperation with SMS in the direction of protection of the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, as well as expressed the hope that the existing relations will be further strengthened.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest in the field of migration.
