Chief of the State Migration Service met with the Head of the Representation of International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan

A meeting has been held between Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov and Vladimir Gjorgjiev, Head of the Representation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan. Existing effective cooperation between the two institutions in the field of migration and the prospects of jointly implemented projects were discussed at the meeting.

The Chief of the Service noted that activities have been started in order to take appropriate measures for active participation of our country, as a "Champion country", in the International Migration Review Forum to be held in New York this year. He also stressed that efforts will be intensified to strengthen cooperation with the UN Migration Network in sharing Azerbaijan's best practices in various aspects of migration, as well as to promote the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration at different levels.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief of the Service for the cordial meeting, Vladimir Gjorgjiev, Head of the Representation of the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan, praised the work done to further develop bilateral cooperation and expressed confidence that it would make an important contribution to expanding relations in the field of migration between the countries of the region.

Steps related to joint activities within the Regional Training Center for Migration in Azerbaijan, as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
