Meeting of the Working Group on foreigners granted refugee status in Azerbaijan
A regular meeting of the working group on the integration and social protection of foreigners granted refugee status in Azerbaijan has been held at the State Migration Service. The meeting with the participation of relevant agencies discussed issues related to the integration of refugees in Azerbaijan, as well as their labor and social security, the work done in this area and further perspectives. The aim is to further improve the favorable environment created for refugees during their stay in our country, to promote the socio-economic and human rights enshrined in existing legislation and international conventions.
The event highlighted the achievements of the past period, interagency coordination in the field of integration of foreigners, the support of international partners in this area, as well as the work done to improve the legislation in line with modern requirements. It was underlined that the three global commitments voiced by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the First Global Refugee Forum held in Geneva in December 2019 have been fully implemented.
At the end of the meeting, a working group leaded by the State Migration Service, consisting of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance, discussed the upcoming issues with the participation of the Public Council under the State Migration Service.
