Chief of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to the Republic of Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci

The Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov sincerely has greeted the Ambassador and congratulated him on his new appointment. Turkey's support for Azerbaijan's just position in the liberation of our ancient lands thank to the bravery of our triumphant army was highly appreciated. He noted that diplomatic and fraternal relations between the two heads of states serve to further expansion of bilateral relations.

The Chief of the Service notified that the proximity of language and culture between the two countries is one of the main factors contributing to the intensity of mutual migration. Among foreigners living and working in Azerbaijan, Turkish citizens are in the forefront, and this trend is growing every year. This allows expanding cooperation between the migration agencies. He emphasized continuation of the visa-free regime for citizens on the basis of national identity cards according to the Agreement signed between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Touching upon the simplification of the involvement of our citizens in labor activity, Vusal Huseynov noted that cooperation in the field of migration will yield significant results. He spoke about the draft agreements to be implemented, including on the one related with readmission of persons residing without authorization. Noting the importance of deepening cooperation with the relevant agencies of Turkey, the Chief of the Service said that work is underway to establish a Regional Training Center on Migration with the support of international partners.  

Expressing gratitude for the sincere welcome, Cahit Bagci expressed his satisfaction with the mutual cooperation. He stated assurance that significant projects will be implemented to further develop relations in the field of migration. He emphasized their interest in the further simplification of travel between the two countries.  

In the end, the sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
