22,320 calls received by the 919 Call Center of the State Migration Service
The 919 Call Center of the State Migration Service, which provides 24-hour- uninterrupted service, has entered intensified work regime taking into account the special quarantine regime applied in our country as a result of the spread of coronavirus infection. In order to further improve the service and minimize the waiting time on the line, the functional capabilities have been increased.
During March of this year, the 919 Call Center received 22,320 calls. This is 2.5 times more in comparison with the same period of the last year. Of the calls, 19851 were answered in Azerbaijani, 2106 in Russian and 363 in English.
4004 calls were received on registration upon place of stay (734 calls in March of the last year), 6021 on extension of temporary staying period (72 calls in March of last year), 6111 on temporary residence permit (2568 calls in March of the last year), 788 on permanent residence permit (435 calls in March of the last year), 221 on work permits (357 calls in March of the last year), 505 on citizenship issues (907 calls in March of the last year), 4670 on other issues (2060 calls in March of the last year).
Compared to the same period of the last year, the number of calls increased by 84 times related to the extension of temporary staying period, and decreased by 2 times related to citizenship issues. In the current situation, the increase in calls was mainly due to the provision of e-services to foreigners, in particular, the extension of temporary staying period of foreigners, whose staying period in the country is expected to expire by April 30, by the State Migration Service.
It should be noted that the Call Center responds to calls immediately or after investigation, provides information and consulting services, as well as receives and directs complaints (information, suggestions).
Currently, work is underway to increase the workforce, software and technical capabilities of the Call Center to achieve the set goals, taking into account the workload, and in general to ensure its activities in accordance with the requirements of the day.
