The results of the last 6 months dicussed in Sheki Regional Migration Department

The next reporting event of regional migration department led by first deputy head of State Migration Service, ll rank state migration service counselor Vali Naghiyev was organized in Sheki. Work done during 6 months of 2019 and forthcoming tasks were reviewed at the meeting. In his opening speech the first deputy head of the Service appreciated achievements in the field of migration as a significant factor in the country's prosperity. He noted that in the past, State Migration Service has carried out its activities on the basis of human and civil rights and freedoms, rule of law, humanism. All the tasks set forward by the Service chief were fulfilled in time and with success.

Heads of Sheki, Ganja, Yevlakh Regional Migration Departments (RMD), as well as Chief and staff of the Yevlakh City Detention Center for Illegal Migrants made a speech. It was noted that, in the first half of 2019, in total, 36,271 applications were registered in the mentioned departments regarding the registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons.

During 6 months, 5,934 applications have been received for extension of temporary staying period, issuance of temporary and permanent residence permit, adoption, restoration and revocation of citizenship in the country, as well as establishment of citizenship, issuance of work permits for carrying out labor activity and extension of existing work permits by foreigners and stateless persons in departments (Sheki, Ganja and Yevlakh RMD).

In the first half of the year, as a result of the measures taken and investigations carried out in the country, 1232 decisions were made by departments related to the violation of the requirements of migration, as well as administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons. Residence of 1188 foreigners was legalized in the country. 79 foreigners involved in illegal labor activities were found and administrative decisions were made about them.

9 awareness raising events and 8 mobile services were also organized during the reporting period. Overall, 234 people used mobile services.

At the end of the event Vali Naghiyev gave instructions and recommendations to representatives of Regional Migration Departments for organization of the work at the highest possible level.
