An event titled “Human Rights Month” held in Shirvan

 Within the framework of “Human Rights Month” by the State Migration Services (SMS), the Youth Center of Shirvan City, which is within the service area of the Shirvan Regional Migration Department was held an awareness-raising event on "Combating human trafficking and eliminating illegal migration" with the participation of Foreigners and stateless persons, education workers, members of public and local executive authorities, Mass Media and law enforcement officials. Ramin Gasimov who is head of sector of Shirvan city Municipality opened the event with introductory remarks and expressed gratitude to the management of the State Migration Service for organizing the event with the participation of a total of 100 people. Shamsaddin Mammadov, deputy head of the Shirvan Regional Migration Department gave a detailed speech. In the event, Chief Inspector of the Migration Control Department of the State Migration Service, junior migration service counselor Ismayilov said that human trafficking is one of the main directions of international organized crime, and "National Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan", approved by the Presidential Decree of 6 May 2004 envisages to improve the legislative framework in this area, to establish a national coordinator, to establish a special police structure for trafficking in human beings within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to protect victims of human trafficking and to protect the potential victims. At the end of the event, participants’ questions were answered.
