"Enhancement of National Capacities to Combat Human Trafficking in Azerbaijan" (ENCT) project has been completed

 

Cooperation in combating human trafficking at international, regional and local levels, improvement and application of national legislation were discussed at the event. Parviz Musayev, deputy chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor, noted that Azerbaijan acceded many international human trafficking documents. The State Migration Service successfully performs the tasks of forming a unified state policy in the field of migration, managing migration processes with innovative methods in accordance with present day requirements by protecting the national security and interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan, eliminating the negative effects of irregular migration processes and ensuring participation in combating human trafficking.

Parviz Musayev emphasized that the project is a continuing of components the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration. He also said that he supports the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, in line with the directions of activity defined by the Joint Declaration on the Partnership for Peace, signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

Speeking at the event UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Gulam Isakzai, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Kestutis Yankauskas, Head of the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan, Vladimir Gyorgyev, as well as the representatives of other government agencies participating in the project , also spoke on the importance of combating human trafficking, the benefits of the project "Enhancement of National Capacities to Combat Human Trafficking in Azerbaijan" and measures taken by the Government of Azerbaijan in this area.

At the end for successful cooperation within the project, certificates of appreciation were presented to the representatives of the state bodies participating in the project.
