State Migration Service organized an event on the occasion of the Novruz holiday for foreigners and stateless persons

An event on the occasion of the Novruz holiday has been held in the Baku Detention Center for Illegal Migrants by the State Migration Service with participation of foreigners and stateless persons.

After lighting the bonfire, Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov congratulated the participants on the occasion of the Novruz holiday, which embodies our nations’ ancient history, national traditions and customs. He mentioned that the cornerstone of the Novruz is strengthening unity and kindness among people, as well as mercy and attention towards each other.

The Service chief claimed that foreigners and stateless persons are surrounded with care and attention in Azerbaijan which is known as a tolerant and multicultural country in the world. Today, organization of the Novruz in the Baku Detention Center for Illegal Migrants, as our national holiday, is an indication of our state’s sensitive attitude and care towards foreigners.

Later foreigners and stateless persons tasted traditional Novruz pastries prepared in compliance with our traditions and customs. Customs, colorful songs and various dances related to the Novruz in the holiday ceremony made pleasant impressions on the event participants.

Foreigners and stateless persons expressed their gratitude to the State of Azerbaijan because of the attention and care shown to them.

It should be mentioned that employee of the Ombudsman`s Office Rashid Rumzada and Chairman of the Public Council Azar Allahveranov attended the event, as well.
