Meeting held between Chief of State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vusal Huseynov and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ismail Chatakli who is on official visit to Azerbaijan

The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Ismail Chatakli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Azerbaijan Mr. Erkan Ozoral, as well as the employees of the Embassy have participated in the official reception organized in the administrative building of the State Migration Service.

Warmly greeting the guests, the Service Chief Vusal Huseynov mentioned the matchless activity of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Head of State of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in consolidation of sincere and fraternal ties between our countries, the highest level of relations among two fraternal countries and great significance of that meeting.

Speaking about the importance of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on mutual labor activity of labor force” on cooperation in the field of labor, labor migration, social protection and employment, signed in 2013 between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Service Chief mentioned the continuation of the measures in the direction of simplification of the legislation, adoption of new draft laws on amendments in migration legislation, ensuring convenience of registration and residence of the foreigners traveling to the country, increasing the attractiveness of the country in terms of tourism, ensuring the transparency and supporting the development of entrepreneurship.

Vusal Huseynov also stressed that a number of activities were caried out in the direction of the draft "Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey on migration, readmission and simplification of mutual travel of the citizens between two countries", which was proposed by the Republic of Turkey.

Thanking for warm reception, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Ismail Chatakli underlined the interest of Turkey in strengthening the relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all directions and noted the importance of increasing the efforts for implementation of joint projects to guarantee the rights and obligations of both countries’ citizens in the field of labor and labor migration and further consolidation of fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Discussions were held on the issues of future cooperation in the field of migration, protection of the rights of Azerbaijani citizens residing in Turkey, the draft “Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the field of migration”, etc. A memorial photo was taken at the end of the meeting.
