The Chief of State Migration Service met with UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan

The Chief of State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov met with UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan and Resident Representative of United Nations Development Program, Ghulam Isaczai in the headquarters of the Service.

At the meeting, which was of an introductory nature, V.Huseynov noted with pleasure that close relationships have been established  among SMS and UN Office in Azerbaijan, as well as many institutions of the organization.

The Chief of Service informed about the activities of the SMS. He stated about the fundamental work done in our country in the field of regulation and management of migration processes. He emphasized that legislation regulating relations related to migration is improving, registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay grounds and dates of their residence in the country, issuance of work permits, as well as application of other relevant norms are being simplified.

UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Ghulam Isaczai stated that he was deeply impressed by the development processes in our country. He noted the existence of effective cooperation between the organization which he represents and SMS. He touched upon the perspectives of existing relations. He emphasized the importance of migration processes which are global issues and the achievements in Azerbaijan on managing these processes.

At the meeting the issues of mutual interest were discussed, as well as views on future cooperation were exchanged.
