Opening ceremony of "International Summer Law School" held at State Migration Service

Opening ceremony of "International Summer Law School" held in the headqurters of the State Migration Service (SMS). 100 foreign law students from 17 European countries are participating at the Summer School includes.

The Chief of State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov speaking at the opening ceremony congratulated the participants on the occasion of the opening of International Summer School of Law and expressed his satisfaction for helding the opening ceremony at the SMS. He stated that this visit of European students is a good opportunity in terms of getting detailed information in general, about our country, about the culture of Azerbaijan. He expressed his confidence that the participants will be satisfied with the summer school organized in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of this platform and talked about the productivity of project which is being held for the fourth time in Baku. V.Huseynov gave detailed information to the participants about “the philosophy, legal basis and practical importance of the "Open Government Model of Azerbaijan: Transparency and Open Government Principles in Migration” which is the subject of the opening ceremony. He highlighted the work done to simplify migration-related procedures for foreigners arriving in our country by SMS in accordance with the principles of the open government and the legislation. One of the first issues of interest for both a tourist and a business traveler is the country's migration rules said the Chief of the Service. He spoke about the implemented reforms and recent innovations in order to provide access to migration services in our country.

Vice President of Azerbaijani Representation of the European Law Students Association - ELSA Azerbaijan, Chinara Gasimova said that ELSA, an international organization operating in 42 European countries, combines more than 40,000 law students and young lawyers in 230 universities. The goal of the organization is to achieve expansion of educational and exchange opportunities among young lawyers in Europe, promotion of their active participation in the development of society, practical application of theoretical knowledge. Azerbaijan became a member of ELSA international organization in 2010. With the support of the organization Azerbaijani law students had internships abroad.

Afterwards, Chief of Staff of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azad Jafarli made a detailed presentation about the "ASAN service" model. He spoke about the opportunities created and satisfaction provided by “ASAN Visa”.

Deputy chief of International Cooperation Demartment of the SMS, Ulvi Aliyev, made a presentation on migration management in Azerbaijan.

The questions interested perticipants were answered at the opening ceremony.
