At State Migration Service meeting held with the persons who have been granted refugee status in Azerbaijan

The meeting was held with joint initiative of State Migration Service (SMS), UN High Commisioner for Refugees representative in Azerbaijan and “Hayat”  Humanitarian Support Public Union on the occasion of Ramadan with foreigners who have been granted refugee status in the headquarters of the Service and the holiday packages was given to them.

The Chief of State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov expressed his good wishes on the eve of Ramadan which includes exalted feelings such as solidarity, compassion, kindness and humanism to those who are vulnerable  group of the society. Chief of the Service stated that regardless of their will millions of people around the world become refugee as a result of compulsory circumstances, conflicts and wars  which has has a global nature. He highlighted that the Azerbaijani state faced with great influx of refugees and IDPs in the 1990s of the last century and from this point of view, concerns of the people participating in the meeting is familiar to us. He emphasized that the organization of today’s meeting is the manifestation of our respect to our national and spiritual values, as well as state care towards such vulnerable persons.

V. Huseynov mentioned that he is ready to listen suggestions and existing problems of persons who have been granted refugee status by using this event on the occasion of the holiday as a suitable  opportunity.   On behalf of the participants of the meeting Ahmad Sakhavati, Yusif Katib, Habibi Adalzade, Seyid Mehdi, Sabir Hamidi and others firstly stated  that moral, legal and financial assistance by state has been provided in our country, as well as expressed their gratitude for this kind of friendly environment which enables  direct dialogue with service management and emphasized different social issues they encounter.

Chief of the Service noted that they have the intention to take necessary measures to resolve the issues raised by them and will also be presented on a relevant basis through the working group dealing with issues of people who have been granted refugee status.

Representative of the UN High Commisioner for Refugees in Azerbaijan,  Furio De Angelis and the chairman of “Hayat”  Humanitarian Support Public Union and Public Council under SMS Azar  Allahveranov making speech congratulated the participants on the occasion of the holiday, touched upon the projects of their organizations.

At the end of the event holiday packages were presented.
