The chief of State Migration Service met with BP’s Regional President.
Chief of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov met with the delegation led by BP's regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gary Jones.
V.Huseynov noted the importance of the meeting in terms of discussions on the prospects of cooperation between BP and SMS. He stated that BP created a rich example of cooperation as a strategic partner of Azerbaijan with the achievements of the implementation of key energy projects, development of oil and gas industry, advanced technology and in the field of application of practice.
Chief of State Migration Service highlighted that BP Azerbaijan has a solid and constructive relationship with State Migration Service. Close cooperation between the two institutions available particularly in the field of issuance of work and residence permit, as well as nationalisation of workforce.
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on the work done towards the implementation of the defined goals related to the number of Azerbaijani citizens working in oil and gas projects according to the "State Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Nationalisation between the BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited and State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan" between SOCAR and BP-Azerbaijan with the participation of the State Migration Service signed on November 14, 2013.
Expressing his gratitude for the sincere reception Gary Jones noted that work in the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan continues at a high level and expressed satisfaction for his activity in our country . He stated that BP successfully fulfills its commitment to nationalisation of the engineer-technical staff by the end of 2018. BP's regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey mentioned that Azerbaijani citizens have a very high leadership position in BP's global operations, which indicates the quality and experience of the staff. He expressed assurance that the signing of the new Production Sharing Agreement on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block will ensure longer-term cooperation.
At the meeting increasing the effectivenes of relations between the two institutions and future prospects of mutual cooperation were discussed.
