The registration of foreigners upon the place of stay simplified

On May 17, 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Migration Service and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed on the implementation of registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon the place of stay in ASAN Service centers. The memorandum was signed by the head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov and the chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations Ulvi Mehdiyev.

The registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon the place of stay will be provided in the regional migration departments of the State Migration Service (SMS), simultaneously in "ASAN Service" centers in Baku and Sumgayit cities.

According to the Memorandum, the State Migration Service will provide reception of applications for registration of foreigners or stateless persons upon the place of stay intending to stay in the country for more than 10 days at “ASAN Service” centers, as well as the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations will ensure the suitable conditions for the application of innovations and realization of the services above with high standards.

By doing so, the transparency and convenience in the process of registration will be provided, the possible queues will be avoided, customer satisfaction will be increased and the appeal opportunities for individuals will be expanded. Within the framework of cooperation between the State Migration Service and the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations, registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon the place of stay will be carried out in accordance with the principles of activity and transparency standards set in “ASAN Service” centers.

The registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon the place of stay is free of charge.

The documents required for the registration upon the place of stay are following:

Application form;
Copy of passport (other border crossing document) of foreigner and stateless person (including visa pages and pages indicated last entries to the country);

It should be noted that, along with a direct application for registration upon the place of stay in the country, SMS official website (migration.gov.az), e-government portal (www.e-gov.az) and e-mail (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az) is also available for online application.

According to Article 21 of the Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the foreigners or stateless persons intending to stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan more than 10 days, should get registered upon place of stay. For this purpose, the administration of the place of stay of the foreigner or stateless person or the owner of the apartment should submit application for registration upon place of stay within 10 days after arrival of the person in the country.

Foreigners and stateless persons can apply for registration in person as well.
