The delegation of International Center for Migration Policy Development visited State Migration Service
Chief of the State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov met with the representatives of International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
The purpose of the meeting was the discussion of perspectives of further relations, cooperation issues, as well as new projects and priorities between SMS and ICMPD.
Mentioning the ICMPD as one of the main partners that the Republic of Azerbaijan cooperates in multilateral level, Service chief noted that since the establishment of relations with the organization several significant projects have been implemented so far. He particularly emphasized the significance of “Support to the Implementation of Mobility Partnership with Azerbaijan (MOBILAZE)” project jointly implemented with the Center.
V.Huseynov stated that as a result of joint cooperation establishment of the Working Group on Reintegration for raising efficiency of taken measures in order to support reintegration and address problems of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, readmitted in the framework of relevant agreements was one of the successful outcomes of activities realized within MOBILAZE project, as well. Chief of the Service noted that in its turn, SMS is always open for cooperation with international stakeholders and ready to share its own experience with world states in the field of migration.
Radim Zak, ICMPD Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia noted the development of cooperation between the Azerbaijani Government and the organization represented by him, highlighted the importance given by SMS to the expansion of this cooperation. It was mentioned that totally, 61 international events in cooperation atmosphere with SMS have been conducted within the framework of MOBILAZE project consisting of 5 components so far. Moreover, a number of reports and publications with regards to migration processes occurring in Azerbaijan were published.
The future perspectives of relations, cooperation issues, new projects, as well as other issues of interest between the State Migration Service and the International Center for Migration Policy Development were discussed at the meeting.
It should be noted that ICMPD also functions as a Secretariat of Budapest and Prague Processes, multilateral cooperation platforms of European Union in the field of migration.
