15 foreigners detained in the framework of fight against illegal migration
State Migration Service continues measures to combat illegal migration.
During the measures carried out against illegal migration by the Service 15 foreigners in total, including 14 Indian and 1 Bangladeshi citizen, were detained.
The investigation revealed the violation of rules for stay and residence on the territory of Azerbaijan by 6 Indian citizens and the failure to observe the declared purposes of arrival in the country by 8 Indian citizens.
It was found out that the detained Bangladeshi citizen Abir Mirzanur Rahman who has illegally resided in the country, attempted to obtain a forged permission card for temporary residence in return for certain amount of payment. Thus, the information on electronic copy of the permission card issued to a minor citizen of the Russian Federation by State Migration Service was changed and falsified in the name of A.M.Rahman. The foreigner declared that the card was prepared by the citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Yusubov Tarlan Tofik.
Furthermore, it was revealed that 4 additional Indian citizens who were brought to Azerbaijan by deception under the name of employment and detained during the measures taken, was camouflaged under the guise of entrepreneurship activity, however they have not been engaged in any entrepreneurial activity. Some of those persons’ arrival in and accommodation in Azerbaijan were organized by the citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nasir, a permanent resident of Azerbaijan, who attempted to legalize the residence of those foreigners through illegal means in return for certain amount of payment.
