24 illegal migrants detained

Measures against illegal migration are continued by State Migration Service (SMS).

As a result of the measures taken by SMS against illegal migration 24 foreigners in total, including 16 citizens of India, 5 citizens of Pakistan, 2 citizens of Nepal and 1 citizen of Turkey were detained.

During the investigation it was revealed that 3 citizens of Pakistan, 1 citizen of India and 1 citizen of Turkey among the detained foreigners allegedly came to the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to carry out business activity, but were not engaged in any business activity and the purpose of their application was only residence and free movement in the country.

The illegal residence on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and violation of declared purpose of visit of other detained foreigners were revealed, as well. 

Investigation regarding detained foreigners have been completed and relevant administrative measures have been taken about them.
