State Migration Service held seminar in Guba “ASAN service” center

Khachmaz Regional Migration Department held awareness raising seminar on “Organization of services conducted by State Migration Service” in Guba “ASAN service” center.

Functioning in Guba “ASAN service” center, employees of the state authorities and volunteers participated at the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, director of Guba “ASAN service” center Elman Isayev underlined importance of an awareness raising seminar in migration sphere organized by State Migration Service.

Chief of Khachmaz Regional Migration Department, migration service counselor Hidayat Rustamov made a report on “Organization of services conducted by State Migration Service”.

He informed that covered by attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, Baku, Shirvan, Lankaran, Ganja, Yevlakh, Shaki, Agshu and Khachmaz regional departments of the Service operate at full capacities.

State Migration Service implements functions such as registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay within 10 days, if they want to stay in the country  for a period of more than 10 days, extension of temporary staying period, granting permits for temporary and permanent residence, adoption, revocation, restoration of citizenship, as well as establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, also issuance of work permits for carrying out labor activity and extension of period of existing work permits. And conducts measures on fighting against illegal migration.

Operating in Baku and Yevlakh cities, Detention Centers for Illegal Migrants of SMS fit with international standards.

Furthermore, employees of the Service serve to foreigners and stateless persons, as well as to the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan at all 11 “ASAN service” centers, functioning within the country.

It was stated that one of the attained achievements of State Migration Service for the last year, was that the Service took place at the forefront according to the results of the assessment of public services on criteria of "ASAN service index".

The responsible employee of regional migration department brought into attention of the participants significant facts of migration legislation.

At the seminar questions interested participants were answered.
