State Flag Day celebrated at State Migration Service

At the event organized at State Migration Service on the occasion of 9 November– the State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan and started with playing the National Anthem, was stated that on 1918 three-color State Flag had waved over the Azerbaijani sky during 18 months. In 1991 after the restoration of the independence of Azerbaijan state flag as our other attributes, was also restored.

It was underlined that at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on 17 November 1990 was raised the flag of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, expressing the formula "Turkism, Islamism and modernity", which are three fundamental principles of the national independence ideology of the XX century.

At the event history and importance of this day, which was established by the Order of the President Ilham Aliyev dated from November 17, 2009 and celebrated by our nation every year with honour and proud, was highlighted. It was noted that the flag of each nation is an expression of its national identity, language, culture, religious and spiritual morality and national ideology of their unity. Today, proudly waving at UN and other international events flag is one of the symbols that the nation sees its past and present, and determines its future steps.

It was mentioned with sense of pride that respect and esteem of state attributes in our country is on a high level. On June 8, 2004 the legislative base in this field was improved by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the rules for the use of the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

It was expressed with confidence that our three-color state flag will always wave a loft and also over our occupied territories in the near future. It was underlined that everyone should deeply understand his/her responsibility for the sake of the eternity of legal and political power of our Constitution.

Participants of the event watched a film dedicated to the Flag of Azerbaijan.

Later excursion to the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan was organized for a group of employees of the Service. Acquaintance with exposition of the museum and memorial museum of famous philanthropist H.Z. Tagiyev left unforgettable impressions in memories.
