Awareness raising event held on measures against illegal migration

Lankaran Regional Migration Department held an awareness raising event on the subject of “Measures against illegal migration” with participation of local administrative representatives and members of municipalities, public representatives at the administrative building of Masalli region Executive Authority.

Successful reforms carried out in our country with the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev were the subject of discussion at the event, issues regarding implementation of state migration policy, regulation of migration processes in the country and relations emerging in this field were conversed, alongside with the issues about legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan. Information on the application of the measures of liability in accordance with the Administrative Offences Code in relation to foreigners and stateless persons illegally residing in the country has been brought to the attention of the participants.

At the event, an explanatory talk was carried out on the registration procedure upon place of stay in the State Migration Service within 10 days from the date of entry to the Republic of Azerbaijan to prevent foreigners and stateless persons become illegal migrants, necessity of applying to State Migration Service in case of extension of temporary staying period if they have grounds for this, in the absence of grounds leave the country on time and obtaining of work permits for carrying out paid labor activity.
