State Migration Service held an awareness raising event in Aghsu
State Migration Service (SMS) held legal enlightenment event on the subject of “Rules for granting temporary residence permission for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan” in a conference hall of Aghsu city Children and Youth Art Center with participation of local administrative representatives and members of municipalities, law-enforcement officials, academia, public representatives, as well as, foreigners and stateless persons.
Successful reforms carried out in our country in recent years with the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev were the subject of discussion at the event.
The issues regarding implementation of state migration policy, regulation of migration processes in the country and relations emerging in this field were conversed, alongside with the issues about legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan.
The legal enlightenment of citizens was conducted with presentation of video slides prepared by SMS about the issuance of temporary residence permit for foreigners and stateless persons and their registration upon place of stay. They also were informed about the cases in which the temporary residence permit is granted and the required documents. It was mentioned that, in cases when the grounds for issuance of temporary residence permission in Azerbaijan exist, foreigners and stateless persons should apply to SMS for issuance of relevant permission at least 30 days prior to the end of temporary residence or staying period in the country.
Afterwards, the questions in the interest of event participants were responded.
At the end of the event the list of documents required for the establishment of citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan was presented to 1 person, 2 persons were presented the list of documents for getting temporary residence permission and 1 person was presented a temporary residence permit.
I deputy head of Aghsu regional Executive Power Mr. Rasim Novruzov, on behalf of event participants, expressed gratitude to the management of State Migration Service for arrangement of such awareness-raising event.
