12 foreigners illegally residing within the territory of the country were detained by State Migration Service
5 Pakistani, 2 Indian, 2 Nepalese, 1 Sierra Leone, 1 Nigerian citizen and 1 person with dual citizenship (Palestinian and Jordanian) who illegally resided within the territory of the country were detained during the recent measures against illegal migration by State Migration Service.
As a result of investigation it was revealed that the Pakistani citizen Zikar Ullah claiming himself as Vasim who was expelled from the territory of country in an administrative way and banned from entry to the republic because of violating the requirements of migration legislation, brought his 5 compatriots (Hussain Muhammad Waqar, Ahmad Sarfraz, Haidar Irfan, Ali Faizan, Ahmed Shakeel), 2 Indian (Ravinder Kumar, Mandal Bhairab) and 2 Nepalese citizens (K C Sunil, Shrestha Anu) to the Republic of Azerbaijan under bogus recruitment scam.
Zikar Ullah met the abovementioned 9 persons in Azerbaijan and placed those foreigners in apartments which he rented on different addresses. He promised to obtain temporary residence and work permits for them in order to carry out paid labor activity in our republic, as well as to provide those persons with a job. It should be mentioned that another group of 43 persons who were trapped by the organizer of illegal migration channel Zikar Ullah were expelled from the borders of the republic a while ago.
Detained Sierra Leone citizen Banya Sama Kai and Nigerian citizen Eze Chukuemeka had obtained temporary residence permits as the students of Azerbaijan Technical University. However, they became illegal migrants by failing to leave the country after they were expelled from the University.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the person with dual citizenship Jebreen M.S. Awad who was detained during the measures held is a graduate of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, later he returned to Azerbaijan for work. Jebreen M.S. Awad agreed with “Ok Tour” tourism company on obtaining work and residence permits for him and was granted with relevant permits through “Md International” LLC in which he wasn’t employed. However, afterwards the LLC ceased to operate Jebreen M.S. Awad managed to obtain temporary residence permit as the owner of real estate in Azerbaijan with the help of his friends.
The persons placed at Baku city Detention Center for Illegal Migrants of State Migration Service were involved in relevant administrative liability for the revealed facts.
Measures are continued by the State Migration Service in the framework of fight against illegal migration.
