State Migration Service held next workshop for employees of tourism facilities in Lankaran
In connection with the beginning of the tourist season Lankaran Regional Migration Department held a workshop dedicated to migration legislation for the representatives of hotels at Cultural Center of the region.
It was informed that the Service performs the functions such as registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of residence, extension of temporary staying period in the country, issuance of permits for temporary and permanent residence, acquisition, termination and restoration of citizenship, as well as establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, issuance of work permit to engage in labour activity and extension of existing ones. Today it can be said with confidence that necessary measures is being implemented successfully by the Service related with fight against illegal migration and protection of foreigners who arrive in the country on legal basis and legalize their staying and residence in the republic.
It was mentioned that according to Article 21 of Migration Code foreigners or stateless persons should get registered upon place of stay within 10 days in case they intend to temporarily stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than 10 days. For this purpose, the management of hotel, sanatorium, rest home, guest house, camping, tourist base, hospital or other similar places or the owner of the apartment or other residential area where the foreigner or stateless person stays, in a word, the receiving party should apply to State Migration Service for registration upon place of stay of the foreigner or stateless person within 10 days after his/her arrival in the country. One can get registered online on the official website of the Service or through applying to the regional migration departments in person. The Hotel representatives were explained the rules for registration of a foreigner upon place of stay via electron services. It was noted that when the foreigners and stateless persons leave their places of stay, the receiving party or the person himself/herself informs migration bodies about it and they are deregistered upon place of stay based on that information. Furthermore, when a foreigner or stateless person changes his/her place of stay, he/she should be registered upon new place of stay in a way set forth. When the registration period ends, foreigners and stateless persons are considered as deregistered.
It was mentioned that State Migration Service fully monitors the date of arrival of each foreigner and stateless person in the country, their places of residence and work, date of departure from the country via UMIS. Undoubtedly, administrative liability is involved when the requirement of the Code are violated.
