An event dedicated to the “28 May – Republic Day” of Azerbaijan was held at the State Migration Service
An event on the occasion of 28 May – Republic Day was held at the State Migration Service (SMS). At the event that began with the performance of National Anthem, the first deputy chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vali Nagiyev spoke about the establishment of Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, the history of our country's independence. He talked about the historical significance of establishing the first democratic republic in the east in Azerbaijan, and the important works realized by the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan within a short time.
It was highlighted that as reflected in the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people, possessing ancient and rich traditions of statehood, were forcefully incorporated into the structure of large empires during certain periods of its past. The Democratic Republic emerged as a logical consequence of brilliant cultural progress experienced by Azerbaijan during the period of the reorganization of the political world order in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The day of the Declaration of Independence is inscribed in gold letters in the history of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that having restored its independence at the end of the 20th century, Azerbaijan faced military aggression of Armenia, a serious economic crisis and chaos inside the country. Only with the return of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power in Azerbaijan, the threats over the country were prevented, and in a short time, Azerbaijan entered a new stage of political and economic development based on a precisely defined strategy. Today, this strategic line successfully continues under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan has become a reliable partner and guarantor of security both for neighboring states and for the countries of the region. In recent years, as a result of the successful policy of President Ilham Aliyev, our country has gained great achievements, today important projects are being implemented with the participation of our country at the regional and international levels.
It was mentioned that we celebrate the 99th anniversary of the Democratic Republic in the historical period of achieving a number of successes by our modern and independent Homeland, uniting the values of Europe and the East. Baku solemnly hosted the IV Games of Islamic Solidarity. For several days it’s the holiday of sports in our country. The strong Azerbaijani youth that has grown up with the care and attention of the state, having won the awards of these competitions has repeatedly raised our three-color Flag with a crescent and a star, which was first raised in 1918. It was mentioned due to economic development, tourism potential of Azerbaijan and organization of such global scale events have increased the number of foreign guests arriving in Azerbaijan and applying to the State Migration Service. It was noted that all the necessary conditions have been created by the SMS, surrounded with attention and care of the head of state, for rendering high-quality, operational services to foreigners and stateless coming to our country.
