Seminar on migration legislation was held in Sheki for representatives of tourism facilities

The State Migration Service held a seminar on migration legislation at the “Sheki Palace” hotel for representatives of tourism facilities located on the territory of the Sheki Regional Migration Department.

The socio-economic development, tourism potential of our country was widely discussed at the seminar. It was noted that in the modern world tourism is considered to be one of the most dynamically developing spheres of the economy of each country. Therefore, important reforms under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in connection with the development of tourism, the successful implementation of the adopted state programs, and the established modern infrastructure have put the tourism industry on a new stage of development, both in the capital and in the regions. At present, stability and security in our republic are protected at a high level. Moreover,  the world-famous hotel brands are operating in Baku and in the regions. All this led to a significant increase in the number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan. Providing the convenience and safety of tourists is one of the priorities of the policy pursued by the Azerbaijani state. From this point of view, foreigners and stateless persons who come to our country must be registered upon place of their stay.

According to the Migration Code, the receiving party must ensure that foreigners and stateless persons wishing to stay for more than 10 days in the country are registered at the State Migration Service within 10 days of their arrival upon place of their stay. In addition, foreigners and stateless persons can also apply for registration upon place of stay in accordance with the requirements of the law. The submission of applications  to the State Migration Service and its regional offices is carried out both, directly or electronically. Employees of the SMS conducted detailed explanatory talks with representatives of tourism facilities on migration legislation to comply with the requirements of the legislation, as well as to prevent difficulties that tourists may encounter later.

At the seminar, the lecture on "rules on the application upon place of stay via electronic form” was heard, as well as an extensive video presentation of the guide on explaining the procedures was presented. Furthermore, the disk of this video presentation was handed to each representative of the tourism facilities.

Afterwards, a representative of the Regional Migration Department made a presentation on the rules for attracting foreigners to paid labor activity in the Republic of Azerbaijan and on the quota of labor migration.
