“The Champion Countries” initiative was established under the leadership of the UN Migration Network created by the UN and consisting of UN specialized institutions to support, monitor, and review the effective implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration in September 2020. The countries joining this initiative are considered to be the leading countries in the implementation of the Global Compact on Migration and are expected to set an example for other countries with their experience and activities. Azerbaijan is the first country in Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia to join the initiative.
