This fertile, generous and friendly land has been the cradle for many thinkers, philosophers, scientists, poets, architects, musicians and artists. A legend tells that Zoroaster was born in this land. Azerbaijan also enriched the humankind with such geniuses as Nizami Ganjavi, Khagani Shirvani, Bahmanyar, Nasimi, Fuzuli, Nasraddin Tusi, Shah Ismail Khatai, Mullah Panah Vagif, A.Bakikhanov, M.F.Akhundov, M.A. Sabir, J.Mammadguluzada, Huseyn Javid, J.Jabbarli, Samad Vurghun, Lutfi-Zade.

The beautiful nature of the country was immortalized in the paintings of talented painters such as Sattar Bahlulzada, Tahir Salahov, Toghrul Narimanbayov, Mikayil Abdullayev and many others.

Our national music - mugham - inspired outstanding composers such as Uzeyir Hajibayov, Muslim Magomayev, Afrasiyab Badalbayli, Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov, Niyazi, Arif Malikov and others to create their masterpieces, which are still known today throughout the world. It also gave inspiration to wonderful vocalists such as Bulbul and Rashid Behbudov.
