State Migration Service is able to execute tasks set forward with high quality
On March 19 10 years will pass since the establishment of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the occasion of this memorable day management of the Service and a group of employees commemorated memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev with esteem.
Memory of eminent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also revered, fresh flowers was laid on her grave.
Later unforgettable memories of Motherland’s children who sacrificed their lives for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was recalled, wreath was laid in front of “Eternal Fire” monument.
Afterwards ceremonial event dedicated to 10 years anniversary of the State Migration Service was held at the Headquarters of the entity.
At first state anthem was played.
At the anniversary ceremony Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev delivered a comprehensive speech about establishment, development and activity of the authority. He noted that President Ilham Aliyev as worthy follower of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev highlighting the economic growth and democratization as the constant formula of the development managed to introduce our Republic with a positive image in global arena, to turn it into the center of regional and international economic cooperation and he practically realized the “strong state-independent policy” motto during past years.
Just like in other spheres for the purpose of improving migration management mechanism, managing and regulating migration processes several crucial steps and sound measures have been taken by the state related to legislation and its application. Thus, in 2004 “State Migration Management Policy Concept of the Republic of Azerbaijan” defining key objectives for governmental bodies was adopted. In order to realize this Concept and achieve goals set forward “State Migration Program of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2006-2008)” was adopted with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 25, 2006. According to the State Program establishment of sole state authority in implementation of state migration policy emerged as an objective necessity. Considering this necessity President Ilham Aliyev signed Decree No. 560 on establishment of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 19, 2007.
Already 10 years have passed since the signing of that Decree. At present in the background of globalization occurring in the world Azerbaijan implements active migration policy in order to influence migration processes in the region, to control migration flows to the country and to manage and regulate internal migration processes according to the national legislation.
F. Nabiyev emphasized that according to the priorities of migration policy defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan improvement of legislation in this field, establishment of institutional mechanisms, application of new information technologies in management of migration processes, conduct of complex measures on fight against illegal migration was set as major tasks. Throughout 10 years State Migration Service as an independent central executive authority successfully executes tasks and also remains at disposal of foreigners and stateless persons. Now as a reflection of achievements in domestic and foreign policy executed by the President Ilham Aliyev all rights and liberties- to move freely and to choose a residential place, to get education, to engage in labor activity, to act as a shareholder and entrepreneur, personal immunity, property immunity, leisure, protection of health, freedom of conscience-of foreigners are provided in Azerbaijan.
With the Order of the President dated from March 17, 2010 every year March 19 is celebrated as professional holiday of migration bodies’ employees. On May 25 of the same year President Ilham Aliyev attended opening ceremony of the new administrative building of the State Migration Service. During this period alongside with administrative building of the Service in Baku administrative building of the State Migration Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which was established with the Decree of the Chair of Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated from May 31, 2010 and Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated from April 18, 2012 on construction of that building, as well as of regional migration departments, detention centers for illegal migrants in capital and in Yevlakh, Medical center have only been possible with the care and attention of the President Ilham Aliyev.
Serving with loyalty to our nation, state and statehood employees of the State Migration Service always try their best to successfully execute tasks set forward.
Tasks set forward during grandiose international sports events – the Baku 2015 European Games and Formula 1 Europe Grand Prix - were successfully completed. Important tasks have been determined for the Service this year as well related upcoming IV Islamic Solidarity Games. There is no doubt that once again migration bodies’ employees will successfully overcome these tasks.
Service chief brought into attention that today supreme attention and care of Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev his decisions about the development of the Service are always met with gratitude and joy. High value, valuable opinions and recommendations given by the head of state to the Service is always perceived as an action plan and motivates employees for greater achievements. Thanks to peerless support of the Commander-in-chief consecutive measures have been taken in the direction of improving logistical base of the Service as well as regional migration departments, detention centers for illegal migrants have been equipped in accordance with the highest international standards.
At the end of his speech F. Nabiyev expressed his gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev who always highly valued the activity of migration bodies and awarded group of employees with state awards. He assured head of state that personnel of the SMS will mobilize all their efforts in the execution of the tasks entusted to this entity and wil always increase their capacities.
After the anouncement of the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as orders of the Service chief on awarding group of employees of the Service related to 10th anniversary state awards were presented to ones distinguished at service.
It should be reminded that according to the orders 2 employees of the Service was awarded with high special rank of III rank state migration service counselor. Furthermore, for distinction at service one person was awarded with II rank "Service to Motherland", one person with III rank "Service to Motherland" ordens, 18 employees of the Service with the medal of "Dinstinction in service at migration bodies" and last but not least one person was awarded with "Honored Journalist" title.
At the end of the event appeal was addressed to the President and Commander-in-chief oft Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the ceremony participants.
