The chief of State Migration Service met with the delegation of BP Company

 

The chief of State Migration Service (SMS), Mr. Firudin Nabiyev met with the delegation headed by Mr. Gordon Birrel, the regional president of BP for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

Recalling previous meetings with BP representatives Mr. F.Nabiyev stated that the conducted negotiations had incredible impact on solving the existing problems.

The high level of cooperation with the company, the results of nationalization policy and the remarkable increase in the number of Azerbaijani citizens working in BP in recent years owing to this cooperation were pointed out at the meeting held with exchange of opinion.

The Service chief noted that the Service has provided all possible support to the company in the framework of the legislation and mentioned his expectations about the number of Azerbaijani citizens working at BP to be increased even more in future. He emphasized the importance of resuming this tendency in accordance with the annual plans and expressed his satisfaction from attention devoted to this process. Mr. F.Nabiyev stated with pleasure that development of mutual relations and cooperative links have good impacts on joint solutions of technical problems.

Mr. Gordon Birrel mentioned that Azerbaijan is the most important country in BP operations and economic crisis occurring in the world did not affect the projects implemented in oil sector in Azerbaijan. G.Birrel informed that his term of office in this position came to an end and he introduced newly appointed regional president for Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Mr.Garry Jones. 

Chief of Service Firudin Nabiyev congratulated Garry Jones on appointment and wished him success in his activity.

G.Jones stated that he will work with full efforts for strengthening existing cooperation during his term.

The exchange of opinion was held on the issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
